Endurance Test for a locking device for oxygen bottles installed on a Rescue Helicopter Ec145-T2 Drf Luftrettung (Air Rescue)

The present endurance test presents the procedure that will be followed in order to test one locking device for oxygen bottles installed on an Airbus Helicopter  EC145-T2 to DRF Luftrettung (air rescue). The goal is to assess their mechanical endurance under “normal” operating conditions. Hence tests are performed for up to 300’000 cycles. Cyclic loading of the locking device takes place with the use of pneumatic cylinders. Frequency is kept low (1/5 Hz) so that no temperature effects can take place.

This test plan and the accompanying report are intended to form part of the environmental test documentation for the OEM, marking the first installation of their fully redesigned and developed helicopter emergency medical system (AC70) on an Airbus Helicopter EC145-T2.
